PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) has officially implemented a digitalized or online ticket purchase reservation policy at five ports in the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) region.
"The five ports are Bolok-Kupang Port starting Friday 5 July, Larantuka-Flores Port starting Monday (8/7), Aimere-Ngada Port starting Wednesday 10 July, Kalabahi-Alor Island Port starting Thursday 11 July, and Waingapu-Sumba Port starting Friday 12 July," said PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry Corporate Secretary (Persero) Shelvy Arifin in a statement in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Monday 15 July.
Shelvy said that the focus of digitalizing tickets is on equitable service standards throughout Indonesia.
He said the application of ticket digitization could make it easier for service users to obtain and ensure the availability of ticket quotas while still prioritizing the accuracy of manifest data for safety purposes on trips.
With the convenience of obtaining tickets, Shelvy hopes to facilitate the mobility of residents and logistics flows in the regions, because there are many main commodities of agriculture such as vegetables, fruits, tubers, and nuts that make ASDP ships inter-regional transportation.
"Buying this e-ticketing will make it easier for farmers and traders to estimate their travel time," he said.
