AKARTA - The Moment of Indonesian Cooperative Day is the right time to restore the dignity of the cooperative system in the country.

The cooperative system has been proven to be successful in various parts of the country. This is in contrast considering that the government is still shy about embedding the cooperative system in Indonesia. The policy taken seems to the government only takes care of MSME players.

"Currently, there are more and more cooperative businesses and even large assets. But ironically cooperative connotation is actually a micro economy and MSMEs. Even though it is different. There are many cooperatives whose assets scale is large but missed are highlighted. We are optimistic that the government that will be inaugurated will certainly understand and understand Bung Hatta's thoughts more about cooperatives," said Chief Executive of the 77th Indonesian Cooperative Day Expo Robby Ferliansyah which was held at the Smesco Convention Hall, Jakarta, at 11-13 July 2024.

The series of events that took place from Thursday to Saturday raised the theme 'Progress Cooperative, Indonesia Gold'. This event is intended to be an event for cooperatives throughout Indonesia to show off their superior products.

Not only that, the event is also to introduce the sophistication and tenacity of vocational students in producing many things. Such as assembling airplanes to convert conventional vehicles into electric vehicles. There are at least 10 SMK participants involved in the cast of innovation with 50 MSME actors and cooperatives throughout Indonesia.

"We want to introduce cooperative business entities to SMK children to accommodate their activities in a business entity so that it becomes long term," he said.

He further said that the things that must be improved at this time are unity and integrity in the Indonesian cooperative movement. Solidarity of all parties is needed to raise the dignity of cooperatives in Indonesia at this time. "For example, now we are actually independent in holding this very important event. We are still able to work hand in hand from all elements in order to achieve this big event," he explained.

He did not miss reminding the great potential that cooperatives and the government can develop with a free lunch program. According to him, the big program can be supported by cooperative actors to the sub-district scale. As a result, everyone will enjoy it because it is from the community to the community. "All cooperatives must be mobilized starting from supply chain cooperatives, then for those who cook to those who distribute. So the role of the government is not only providing assistance but also solid programs such as free lunch," he explained.

It should be noted that the National Cooperative Day (Harkopnas) or Indonesian Cooperative Day (HKI) is celebrated every year on July 12.

The purpose of the commemoration of Indonesian Cooperative Day 2024 itself is to encourage the public to continue to revive cooperatives as a step in realizing mutual prosperity.
