One Day After Jokowi Signs Presidential Regulation On Acceleration Of IKN Development, Authority Holds Meeting At The Ministry Of PUPR

The Capital Archipelago Authority (IKN) held a meeting at the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), today, Friday, July 12.

The meeting was held a day after President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) signed Presidential Decree Number 75 of 2024 concerning the Acceleration of IKN Development.

The meeting was attended by a number of officials, including the Minister of PUPR as well as the Acting Head of the IKN Authority Basuki Hadimuljono, Acting Deputy Head of the IKN Authority Raja Juli Antoni, Deputy for Funding and Investment of the IKN Authority Agung Wicaksono and IKN Authority Secretary Achmad Jaka Santos.

The information from the meeting was conveyed by the Spokesperson for the Ministry of PUPR Endra S. Atmawidjaja. Endra clearly stated that there would be a meeting on Presidential Decree 75.

"This, right, I just want a meeting. Let me know the points too, yes," said Endra when met at the PUPR Ministry office, Friday, July 12.

However, IKN Authority Secretary Achmad Jaka Santos denied the meeting discussed Presidential Decree 75.

When he left the PUPR office at around 16.13 WIB, Jaka admitted that he was just an ordinary meeting.

"Earlier we were just chatting, because he (Basuki) was new (at the IKN Authority)," he said.

Then, Jaka said the meeting was held to prepare for what his party would do in the future. Even so, he did not specify what to do.

Not long after, Jaka left the Ministry of PUPR. Meanwhile, Basuki has not been seen again.

On a different occasion, Deputy for Funding and Investment Agung Wicaksono said that his party was still studying the regulation.

However, he said, Perpres 75 was issued to encourage investment in IKN.

"The point is, it makes investment easier," he said.

Previously, the government issued Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 75 of 2024 concerning the Acceleration of Development of the Capital City of the Archipelago or IKN. This regulation was signed by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) on Thursday, July 11, 2024.

Through Article 9 of Presidential Regulation 75, Jokowi officially gave permission for business rights (HGU) for investors at IKN with a maximum period of up to 190 years.

"Business rights for a maximum period of 95 years through the first cycle and can be given back for one second cycle with a maximum period of 95 years based on the criteria and stages of evaluation," reads Article 9 paragraph 2 (a).

In addition to HGU, building rights or HGB are also given for a maximum period of 80 years through the first cycle.

Then, it can be given back through one second cycle with a maximum period of 80 years based on the criteria and stages of evaluation.

Then, in paragraph 2 (c) it is stated that the right to use for a maximum period of 80 years through the first cycle and can be given back through one second cycle with a maximum period of 80 years based on the criteria and stages of evaluation.
