JAKARTA - The National Food Agency (Bapanas) went directly to the field to undergo a picking test to ensure that the 10 kilograms (kg) rice aid program was distributed properly and on target.

"To ensure this, the National Food Agency went directly to the field to conduct a test of the implementation of food assistance. One of them is in Bandung," said Bapanas President Secretary Sarwo Edhy as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, July 12.

Sarwo said that the picking test was carried out to review the effectiveness, efficiency, and accuracy of the implementation to distribution of food aid to beneficiaries. His party conducted a picking test, one of which was in the Lembang area, West Bandung.

He emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability in the distribution of food aid so that it is really right on target for low-income people.

He believes that the sustainability of the program can ease the burden on the community, especially in helping to meet basic needs such as rice.

Badanas ensures the availability and quality of rice stored in Bulog warehouses starting from warehouse conditions, storage processes, and distribution of rice from warehouses to various regions.

From the results of the review later, Sarwo hopes to get input from all parties involved in the distribution process to beneficiaries of food assistance.

Bapanas Inspector Muhammad Imron Rosjidi explained that the review was carried out by collecting data/documents as well as evidence and information related to the food aid distribution business process as well as examining related regulations/provisions to testing and analyzing through desk reviews.

"Then an interview will be conducted on parties related to distribution activities to conclude the results of the review, which can then be used as a basis for providing suggestions/recommendations," said Imron. West Java (West Java) for the first phase.

In order to maintain the quality of the results of a review of food assistance conducted by the Inspectorate of Fathers, Imron said that a quality/quality assurance (QA) guarantee would be carried out by the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) to ensure that the evaluation was carried out accurately, objectively, and transparently.

"The reviews carried out target the implementers of activities, distribution service providers to food aid recipients and all parties involved in food aid distribution activities," said Imron. Previously, Head of the National Food Agency (Bapanas) Arief Prasetyo Adi said a budget of IDR 11 trillion to continue food assistance until December 2024, for 22 million beneficiary families (KPM) has been approved by the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati.

Arief said that Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati had budgeted for the sustainability of the pro-people program.

The allocation of rice aid and assistance for chicken and eggs will be extended for three months, namely in August, October and December.

"The benefits of this food assistance program are of course for people who really need it so that we both have an obligation to keep the distribution really right on target," said Arief.
