The Ministry Of Industry Encourages IKM Advancement Through Gernas BBI

The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) encourages the promotion of small and medium industries (IKM) in the food sector through the implementation of the Proudly Made in Indonesia National Movement (Gernas BBI), so that it can open up opportunities for food products made by IKM to enter the export market.

"Therefore, IKMs need to prepare themselves, improve quality, build branding, adapt and innovate by reading trends and market needs both domestically and export. So that food IKM players can continue to advance, control the market, to be able to increase their class," said Director General of Small, Medium Industries, and Aneka (IKMA) of the Ministry of Industry Reni Yanita, in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Thursday, July 11. According to Reni, as one of the campaign managers for Gernas BBI in 2024, his party has organized Gernas BBI for the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) region on July 8-9. In that event, one of the activities that encouraged the promotion of IKM was the workshop of a security system in the food and beverage sector which was attended by 30 leading food IKMs from Mataram City, East Lombok Regency, Sumbawa Regency, West Lombok Regency, Central Lombok Regency, North Lombok Regency, Bima City, and Dompu Regency.

Furthermore, the Director of IKM Food, Furniture and Building Materials of the Ministry of Industry, Yedi Sabarayadi, said that this activity focuses on making food IKMs in NTB so that they can meet GMP standards (Good Manufacturing Practices) or Good Process of Processing Olahaan Production (CPPOB), as well as Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) which are guidelines or procedures to regulate companies or producers in producing food so that it is suitable for consumption. "With the procedures to control the quality of food production, the company's products will be more developed and can be trusted by consumers," he also said.
