Jokowi: The Use Of Domestic Products At The District And City Levels Is Still 41 Percent

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo observed that the use of domestic products at the district/city level is currently around 41 percent, so it needs to be increased.

"The problem of budget absorption and especially the use of domestic products, this is what I check, this is still at 41 percent. The use of domestic products is still 41 percent for districts and cities. 41 percent (Angka) is still small, meaning besides that imported products," Jokowi said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 10.

Jokowi asked district/city governments to be careful in budgeting because the finance minister is so difficult to collect state revenues from various sectors, rupiah for the sake of rupiah.

"Be careful (in budget absorption). We collect money from state revenues is very difficult, be it taxes, PNBPs, royalties, dividends, that's qualified, qualified, all of which are collected by the Minister of Finance. Collected into state revenues," said Jokowi.

The President regretted that if state revenues were transferred to the area, then imported products would be purchased which would actually provide benefits to other countries.

"I need to remind you, buy our own products. I remind you, raising the budget is very difficult, so using 100 percent for the procurement of goods and services are domestic products," said Jokowi.

On that occasion, President Jokowi said, the past five years period was not easy, very difficult, and full of challenges.

In terms of health, there is a COVID-19 pandemic, then on the global situation there is a war that causes fluctuations in oil and food prices, and on the environmental side there is a wave of heat, El Nino to La Nina.

"This causes a lot, both health crises, economic crises, food crises, financial and humanitarian crises. But we should be grateful that our country is able to survive the obstacles, existing challenges," said the President.
