JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) said the ceremony field in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) was 100 percent completed.

This was conveyed by the Head of the IKN Infrastructure Development Task Force, Ministry of PUPR Danis Sumadilaga, who recently visited the new capital city this week.

"It's (completed). Yesterday, Wednesday or Thursday I was there," said Danis when met at his office, Friday, July 5.

Danis explained, based on his calculations, the field has a capacity of up to 8,000 people. This amount is also more than previous information which said the 14,250 square meter field could accommodate 4,000 people.

"In fact, it can (contain) 8,000. But, if the number (of guests) will be invited (not known). So there are two for invitations and ceremonial officers. But, in total we can (contain) 8,000," he said.

Even so, Danis admitted that he could not explain the number of invitations for the August 17 ceremony, he said the PUPR Ministry was only tasked with providing basic infrastructure.

"So, if the task of PUPR is to provide facilities and infrastructure, if it is a matter of regulating the invitation at the Presidential Secretariat and the State Secretariat. That's all," he said.

For various other projects, said Danis, they are being accelerated to complete at the end of July 2024. Some of them include the Presidential Office, Presidential Palace, National Ambu Area, Memorial Park to Beranda Nusantara.

Meanwhile, the projects targeted for the functional are the Presidential Secretariat Office (Setpres), the State Secretariat (Setneg) and a number of Coordinating Ministry Offices.
