JAKARTA - Director of Investment Deregulation of the Ministry of Investment/BKPM Dendy Apriandi claimed that since the Job Creation Law, the number of business identification number (NIB) issued through the Online Single Submission (OSS) platform has reached almost 10 million.
"Interestingly, 98 percent of the NIB issued belonged to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs)," said Dendy, quoted from ANTARA, Friday, July 5.
In a general seminar held in Yogyakarta, last Thursday, July 4, Dendy stated that the ease of business licensing through OSS encourages business actors to dare to start and develop their business legally.
He emphasized that the structural reforms that gave birth to the Job Creation Law actually made MSMEs host in their own country, considering that MSMEs are the backbone of the country's economy.
Dendy revealed that there were several adjustments related to the business scale in the business criteria. This adjustment is made in order to encourage MSMEs to advance to class, as well as in empowerment and convenience efforts.
He hopes that with this ease and empowerment, MSMEs in Indonesia can continue to develop and contribute to the progress of the national economy.
On the same occasion, Secretary of the Task Force for the Acceleration of Socialization of the Job Creation Law, Arif Budimanta, explained that the Job Creation Law was prepared based on the principles of equitable distribution, legal certainty, ease of doing business, togetherness, and independence.
This includes ensuring that government policies are made by taking into account the convenience and welfare of these micro and small businesses.
"Because in 100 percent of businesses in Indonesia, 99.99 percent are MSMEs. So in article 3 it is explained that this law was formed for the purpose of creating jobs by providing convenience, protection, and empowerment to cooperatives, micro, small and medium enterprises," he said.
Arif straightened out the term investor which is often misinterpreted by many people.
According to him, investors are a sentence that is neutral, not leading to the top and large class, but Indonesians who are engaged in micro-enterprises are also considered as investors for the progress of the Indonesian economy.
"In addition to investors, these micro-enterprises are investors, because they create jobs and build an economic ecosystem," said Arif.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Center for Pancasila Studies (PSP) of Gadjah Mada University, Agus Wahyudi, stated that the Job Creation Law has values in accordance with Pancasila, namely creating flexible and dynamic jobs by upholding the principles of social justice.
"In the entrepreneurship sector, the Job Creation Law also provides convenience in business licensing and incentives to MSMEs, making it easier for students and alumni to be more enthusiastic about doing business," said Agus.
This general seminar was attended by 250 people from representatives of the DIY Provincial Office, academics, and MSME business actors and cooperatives.
