JAKARTA - PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA) took part in realizing IKN as Smart Forest City through a nursery program and plant distribution in the KKT Kariangau - Simpang Tempadung Toll Road area segment 3B.
In the program, WIKA provides land in the project area to function as a nursery area that is able to plant as many as 4,930 tree seedlings consisting of 100 types of Javanese endemic trees. The seeds will be maintained until they are ready to be replanted along the IKN toll road.
"Environmental aspects are the main concern of project development in IKN. Thus, WIKA encourages infrastructure implementation to also be accompanied by a reforestation program, so that the concept of Smart Forest City can be realized since the construction phase," said Agung Budi Waskito, President Director of WIKA, in his statement, Tuesday, July 2.
As a result of the tree's nursery, 90 percent of the kept plants have been planted on the slopes of the 6 km IKN Segment 3B Toll Road. Various types of trees that have been planted include Mahoni, Kenari, Angsana, Pule, Merbau, and others.
In its implementation, the distribution of plants is carried out in two stages with the aim of considering the maturity of the land and the progress of development in each project package.
