JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir is optimistic that he can complete supporting facilities for the implementation of the 79th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence on August 17, 2024 in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN), East Kalimantan.
"With about a month remaining, we are optimistic that we can complete President Joko Widodo's direction so that the ceremonial field and the State Palace can be completed on time," Erick said in a written statement, quoted from Antara, Sunday, June 30.
Erick said that the anniversary of IKN's inaugural Independence would make the Indonesian nation proud because it would be attended by guests from within and outside the country.
Currently, the ceremonial field project and the State Palace which were built in operational cooperation (KSO) by PT PP (Persero) and PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) have progressed to 77.9 percent, or above the previous target of 73 percent.
The facilities that have been built include the guest Great Plaza area, the ceremonial field, the lobby area, and the 34-pillar column area.
For interior areas such as credential rooms, heirloom flag rooms, and official activity rooms, they are almost ready to be used to welcome domestic and foreign guests.
Meanwhile, PT PP President Director Novel Arsyad said the company was optimistic in completing the projects that had been mandated at IKN, especially the ceremonial field project and the State Palace would be completed and ready to be used for the independence day ceremony. In completing the projects, PT PP is committed to always prioritizing the safety and quality of the work.
