JAKARTA - PT Aviasi Wisata Indonesia or InJourney has posted a net profit in 2023 which reached IDR 1.1 trillion, an increase of 211 percent on an annual basis or year on year (yoy). "In the midst of the economy facing various challenges, InJourney was able to reverse the situation with a net profit achievement of up to IDR 1.101 trillion," said InJourney President Director Dony Oskaria as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, June 26.

According to him, for Earning Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization (Ebitda) or income before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization, his party managed to strengthen IDR 8.828 trillion, an increase of 73 percent from the previous year which only amounted to IDR 5.101 trillion.

Dony explained that the profits obtained were the result of brilliant performance carried out by the state-owned company he led, often recovering the Indonesian tourism and aviation industry from the COVID-19 pandemic.

He said, InJourney managed to get an operating income profit throughout 2023 of IDR 23.347 trillion, or an increase of up to 47 percent compared to operating income in 2022 which amounted to IDR 15.855 trillion.

Dony said that InJourney's health level in 2023 was in the AAA category or very healthy, and it was recorded that the company's financial ratio also experienced significant improvements as seen from operating spending on operational costs (Bopo) dropping by 16 percent.

"InJourney's financial ratio is getting healthier, and in the future we will continue to strive to make InJourney a healthy, efficient, and profitable SOE, accompanied by accountability," he said.

His party has launched two sub holdings in the aviation industry, namely InJourney Airports and InJourney Aviation Services which are transformation steps in the aviation and airport industries.

InJourney Airports will handle 172 million passengers per year and will be in 5th place with the world's largest airport operator companies, beating downdules Airports (France) and GMR Group (India).

The formation of this sub holding has also had a positive impact on the increase in GDP, which is sourced from the tourism sector from 5 percent to 10 percent.
