Wow! Taspen Boss Calls Claim Burden Almost Doubled Contribution And Premium Income

Acting President Director of PT Taspen (Persero) Rony Hanityo Aprianto reported the performance of PT Taspen throughout 2023 in a Hearing Meeting with Commission VI DPR RI.

In the meeting, Rony revealed that the company's claim burden reached almost double in 2023. The claim expense in 203 was recorded at IDR 15.9 trillion. Meanwhile, Taspen's dues and premiums were recorded at IDR 8.4 trillion.

"For example, seen, Taspen's main income is contributions and premiums amounting to Rp8.4 trillion while our claim burden is almost 2 times the dues and premiums. Our claim burden is Rp15.9 trillion. This means that the premium we receive is very far below the claim burden we paid," said Rony, Monday 24 June.

Rony also explained that the company's strategy in overcoming the claim burden was to'return it' from the company's investment returns.

The company's investment throughout the year was recorded at IDR 8.49 trillion.

"So even though the premium contribution is almost half below the claim burden, at least it can still be patched by investment returns of IDR 8.49 trillion," explained Rony.

Rony also said that investment returns in 2023 were recorded at 7.29 percent or above the market which was recorded at 6 percent.

Just so you know, Taspen's assets amounted to Rp376.9 trillion with liabilities of Rp364.4 trillion and total equity of Rp12.63 trillion.
