Vice President Asks BSI To Support Sharia Entrepreneurship Development

JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin asked PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk or BSI to support the development of sharia entrepreneurship in the country. This is done by increasing the portion of financing in productive sectors.

"Enlive the development and financing of BSI to grow sharia entrepreneurship business and entrepreneurship in the leading sector of the halal value chain," he said at the BSI International Expo event, at JCC, Jakarta, Thursday, June 20.

For example, continued Ma'ruf, agriculture, food and beverages, Muslim-friendly tourism, fashion, cosmetics to the Umrah and Hajj business ecosystem.

Furthermore, Ma'ruf said that the growth of entrepreneurship is an important key in the development of the Islamic economy and finance in the country.

"Developing sharia business and sharia business entrepreneurs is the key, if there are no entrepreneurs, the financial industry and the halal industry cannot be utilized," he said.

In addition, Ma'ruf also asked BSI to intensify financing facilities for domestic Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises or MSMEs.

Furthermore, Ma'ruf said, the increase in financing facilities would encourage the halal industry in Indonesia.

This includes spurring the expansion and inclusion of Islamic finance.

"Also increase the portion of financing and mentoring facilities for MSME business actors and industry business actors to encourage the growth of the halal industry and spur the expansion and inclusion of Islamic finance and sharia social funds," he said.
