PT PLN (Persero) is included in the list of the top 10 best companies in Southeast Asia according to 500 Fortune Southeast Asia in 2024.

The positive business performance and annual financial performance growth under the leadership of PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo led the company to rank 6 beating a number of multinational companies from various countries in the Southeast Asia region.

Darmawan said this achievement was a milestone for PLN, which has consistently carried out end-to-end digital-based business transformations over the past 3.5 years.

"This is an achievement from all PLN personnel who have worked hard together. I thank and dedicate this achievement to all PLN personnel who have provided maximum effort so that they can change the business process from all manual to digitalized and in the end make PLN able to reach this point to provide the best service for customers," said Darmawan, Wednesday, June 19.

It was recorded that PLN earned revenue of US$32.01 billion with PLN's profit of US$1.44 billion. PLN also recorded assets of US$ 108.51 billion with a total workforce absorption of 51,245 people.

Fortune Asia Editor-in-Chief Clay Chandler said Fortune's focus on the region emerged as Southeast Asia was increasingly important in the global economy. This is claimed to be thanks to supply chain shifts and the rapid development of the region's economy.

Fortune Southest Asia 500 2024 noted that Indonesia dominated with 110 companies, followed by Thailand with 107 companies. Malaysia, with 89 companies on the list, outperformed Singapore with 84 companies. Meanwhile Vietnam with 70 companies, the Philippines with 38 companies, and Cambodia with two companies.
