OIKN Signs MoU With Honeywell Indonesia For Smart City Development

JAKARTA - The Capital Authority of the Archipelago (IKN) and Honeywell Indonesia are collaborating in the construction of smart cities. This was marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding or MoU at the OIKN office, Jakarta, Tuesday, June 11.

Deputy for Green Transformation and Digital Authority IKN Mohammed Ali Berawi said that his party in building the archipelago into a smart city or smart city has collaborated with several global technology companies, one of which is Honeywell.

As a leading technology engineering company, Honeywell offers solutions to overcome challenges in various sectors. Including smart buildings, energy management, security, safety and sustainability.

The purpose of signing this memorandum of understanding is to strengthen cooperation, exchange of ideas and experiences in planning and implementing the concept of a smart city in the archipelago that supports green economy development and concrete economic returns and the experiences of society in Indonesia.

"Cooperation with Honeywell is expected to accelerate the development of smart cities in the archipelago in accordance with the Smart City Blueprint Nusantara plan. So, it can create cities that can be managed more efficiently and improve the quality of life of the people," Ali said in his official statement, Wednesday, June 12.

Meanwhile, President of Honeywell Asia, Steven Lien expressed his enthusiasm to help realize the development of IKN in order to be in line with the vision of a smart city with a net zero carbon emission.

"It is a great honor for Honeywell to be able to contribute to the development of a smart city in the capital city of the archipelago, especially by presenting technology and smart building solutions that are sustainable," he said.

It is known, Honeywell is also part of a company from the United States that will carry out a trial or proof of concept for the development of the Integrated Command and Control Center at the end of 2024 which is supported by the United States Trade and Development Agency or USTDA.
