This Is The Operational Performance Of All Pertamina Business Lines Throughout 2023

JAKARTA - The performance of PT Pertamina (Persero) throughout 2023 continues to increase after the restructuring of the holding and subholding organization.

"Along with operational growth, financial achievement has also increased thanks to efficiency, cost optimization, liabilities management, and commitment to settle government receivables to Pertamina," said Pertamina President Director Nicke Widyawati in a statement to the media, Tuesday, June 11.

Nicke also detailed a number of operational performances in all Pertamina business lines.

Through Subholding Hulu, said Nicke, oil and gas (oil and gas) production grew 8 percent from 967.4 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (MBOEPD) to 1,044 MBOEPD in 2023.

The production is allocated to national energy needs, where from 24 percent of the domestic blocks managed by Pertamina contribute to the national oil and gas supply of 69 percent and 34 percent.

In 2023, Pertamina will also carry out 6 block acquisitions, including Blok Masela, Blok Bunga and Peri Mahakam.

From Subholding Processing and Petrokimia, refinery production increased 2 percent from 333 million barrels (BBL) in 2022 to 341 million BBL in 2023.

The Balikpapan master plan (RDMP) refinery development program has reached 84 percent by the end of December 2023, as well as other successes such as environmentally friendly energy product innovations in the form of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), BioSolar B35, and Pertamax Green.

Meanwhile, in the marketing and commercial business, through Commercial & Trading subholding, the realization of sales of fuel and non-BBM products has also increased, from 98 million kiloliters (KL) in 2022 to 100 million KL in 2023.

In addition, Pertamina Patra Niaga has started distributing Pertamax Green 95 environmentally friendly fuels, Biosolar 35.

Pertamina, in 2023 continues to run the BBM 1 Price program, One Village One Outlet (OVOO) and Pertashop throughout Indonesia, which until the end of 2023 has covered 98 percent of the region.

"As a business line related to consumers, Pertamina continues to optimize the integrated use of digitalization, from distribution to services, so that this sector's business process can produce significant efficiency for Pertamina," explained Nicke.

Subholding Gas has also succeeded in increasing gas sales from 327,000 billion British thermal units (BBTU) in 2022 to 337,000 BBTU in 2023.

This increase was driven by demand growth from the industrial, commercial and household sectors. Meanwhile, gas networks (gas networks) in 2023 increased by 55,000, or accumulated to 820,000 household connections (SRT). Meanwhile, gas transmission increased by about 8 percent from 493 billion SCF in 2022 to 532 billion SCF in 2023.

Subholding Integrated Marine Logistics (SHI IML) also recorded a positive performance throughout 2023. Pertamina's cargo transportation increased by 3 percent from the previous year, from 157 million KL in 2022 to 161.4 million KL in 2023.

SH IML currently operates 784 tankers and supported vehicles in domestic and 50 international routes.

Most of Pertamina's ships have also used EcoShip designs, which have an impact on reducing fuel emissions and efficiency by up to 8 percent.

As for Pertamina New & Renewable Energy (PNRE) subholding, electricity production from new and renewable energy, including geothermal rose 17 percent from 4,658 giga watt hour (GWh) in 2022 to 5,451 GWh in 2023.

SH PNRE also commercializes several operations, including IPP Java 1 Unit 2, Solar Power Plants in Rokan, Refinery Unit II, III, IV, and VI.

Most of the operating indicators in all subholdings will increase in 2023 compared to 2022. Pertamina Group's operational increase was triggered by the growing demand from consumers, especially in the transition energy sector where growth was quite high. This reflects Pertamina is carrying out its vision to encourage the use of transitional energy, while maintaining national energy resilience in the oil and gas sector," said Nicke.
