The 2025 KPUPR Budget Drops To IDR 75.63 Trillion, Minister Basuki: Focus On Completing Continued Projects

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) proposes a budget requirement in 2025 of IDR 212.58 trillion.

However, the Indicative Ceiling for Fiscal Year (TA) 2025 is only set at IDR 75.63 trillion.

The indicative ceiling is determined based on a joint letter from the Minister of Finance and the Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas dated April 5, 2024.

Thus, the Ministry of PUPR's budget in 2025 is far from being proposed.

Related to this, PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said the ministry in the future era would only focus on completing existing advanced projects.

"I received information from the Minister of Bappenas (Suharso Monoarfa), the indicative ceiling is now the focus on operations and maintenance of further work," said Basuki at his office, Friday, June 7.

"This may be interpreted as giving room to the elected president (Prabowo Subianto)," he continued.

Basuki also remembers that his ministry's 2014 budget reached IDR 76 trillion.

However, when Joko Widodo (Jokowi) was elected President of the Republic of Indonesia, the Ministry of PUPR budget became IDR 115 trillion in 2015.

He considered that this was the authority of the elected president to measure the extent of projects that were the priority for completion by the Ministry of PUPR.

"I think the flexibility is there," he said.
