President Jokowi Appreciates BTN For Building The Future Of The Nation At IKN

JAKARTA - PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BTN) today, Wednesday, June 5, held the groundbreaking in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN). At the event attended by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), the President appreciated BTN for building a building in IKN because it is expected to support the acceleration of economic transformation in IKN and its surroundings.

"BTN is not wrong in building its head office, its branch office in IKN because now in the future there is a lot of need for property financing in this area," said President Jokowi.

The President also expressed his appreciation for BTN IKN for the development of other state-owned banks so that economic transformation can run quickly in the IKN area and its surroundings.

President Director of BTN, Nixon L P Napitupulu said, the BTN building which will stand on an area of 9,000 square meters. In the capital city of Nusantara, East Kalimantan is the future of BTN which will play an active role in building the nation's economy in IKN.

"I would like to thank the President of the Republic of Indonesia for the trust and opportunity given to BTN for being able to join the future city of Indonesia. On this BTN land in the capital city of Nusantara is a form of transformation of BTN as a banking that brings change to the city of the future with a new perspective and a home for digital banking," said Nixon.

Nixon explained that the BTN Building in IKN will be used as a forum for Trade and Services including Conventional Commercial Banks (BTN Kalimantan Regional Office Building, BTN IKN Branch Office Building), ATM / Electronic Banking Service, Co-Working Space, Internal Cafe and Green Open Space. In contrast to other BTN Buildings, the design of the new BTN building has the theme Housing and Beyond where the new BTN Building is integrated with the nature of IKN by following the contour of the land where the building will be established.

"We combine a comfortable home approach such as a family home with a more free future home but still support productivity, collaboration, environmentally friendly, and functional," said Nixon.

The BTN building in IKN is targeted to operate in 2026. With the presence of BTN in IKN, Nixon hopes that the Company can reap as much as possible the KPR market share because most of the housing developers in Indonesia, especially East Kalimantan, have collaborated with BTN.

"BTN has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) or Memorandum of Understanding with the IKN Authority, with scope including the potential for collaboration in the development of housing financing programs, both landed houses and flats in the IKN area, BTN potential in collaboration with Housing Development Actors and potential collaboration in the development of non-residential financing programs and other banking services at IKN," Nixon said.

The concept of Housing and Beyond, continued Nixon, is also in line with the ideals of Bank BTN which continues to innovate and develop capabilities to support a better housing sector in the future so that Bank BTN can become a One stop solution in the housing ecosystem that develops business focus to all aspects connected to housing.

Bank BTN will also play an active role in property financing in the productive sector, support the development of MSMEs for local regional business expansion and also support working capital needs for business actors in IKN and buffer areas that offer various conveniences of transactional facilities that continue to be developed from time to time.

"We welcome the Contractors, because BTN is ready to support the needs of other banking services such as Bank Guarantee, SCF, SKBDN, and Contractor Working Capital Loans whose schemes can be adjusted to the business needs of business actors and BTN will also support the development of MSMEs for local business expansion," concluded Nixon.
