Highest Since Operating, Jabodebek LRT Users Recorded 1.7 Million In May 2024

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI noted that the Jabodebek LRT succeeded in serving 1,704,223 users in May.

This figure is the highest since this mode of transportation operated in August last year.

Jabodebek LRT Public Relations Manager, Mahendro Trang Bawomo said, the average number of users on weekdays reached 70,335 people in May.

Meanwhile, on weekends and national holidays, an average of 33,707 users.

Mahendro said the number of users in May surpassed the previous record recorded in September 2023, when the flat tariff was still in effect.

"Users in May 2024 rose 12 percent compared to the number of users in that period, namely 1,506,191 users," he said in an official statement, Tuesday, June 4.

Although in May it did not impose a flat tariff of IDR 5,000 as at that time, Mahendro continued, the number of Jabodebek LRT users in May actually increased.

"This shows that the Jabodebek LRT is attached and is a public choice in everyday transportation," he explained.

Mahendro said, when compared to April, there was an 18 percent growth with the number of users in April as many as 1,402,933 users.

With this achievement, he continued, the Jabodebek LRT is increasingly optimistic to be the main choice of mass transportation in the Jabodebek area.

He said the increasing number of Jabodebek LRT users was an extraordinary achievement and showed the stronger public trust in the Jabodebek LRT service, as well as recognition of the quality and comfort offered by the Jabodebek LRT as a safe, comfortable, and efficient mode of mass transportation.

"We are very grateful for the enthusiasm, support, and public trust in the Jabodebek LRT. This increase in the number of users is a motivation for us to continue to improve the quality of service," said Mahendro.
