PLN UID North Sumatra has prepared a distribution control center to ensure electricity reliability during the world professional surfing competition World Surf League Qualifying Series (QS) 5000 Nias Pro 2024 took place in South Nias.

"This is to keep electricity supply reliable during the event," said General Manager of PLN UID North Sumatra Saleh Siswanto in Medan, quoted from Antara, Monday, June 3. Saleh said that the smooth supply of electricity was indeed the focus of PLN North Sumatra in the surfing world championship which was held on Sorake Beach on June 8-15, 2024. PLN wants North Sumatra to be a good host for around 215 surfers from approximately 15 countries.

"The reliability of electricity supply during the World Surf League Qualifying Series (QS) 5000 Nias Pro 2024 is a priority," said Saleh.

He emphasized that the North Sumatra PLN had also made the necessary preparations for the World Surf League Qualifying Series (QS) 5000 Nias Pro 2024.

PLN, Saleh continued, carried out various efforts ranging from maintaining the electricity network, adding the utility of the electricity network, to alerting officers and a set of generators.

He also ensured that PLN provided the best electricity services at the match location and participant lodging.

"PLN has increased network reliability, prepared supporting equipment and alerted officers during the event," said Saleh.

As a supporter, Saleh added, electricity supply during the event will also be supplied from two auctioners to make them more reliable.

PLN North Sumatra also ensures that it cooperates with all stakeholders to make the international event a success.

"PLN synergizes with all stakeholders in preparation for all the electricity infrastructure needed. We are optimistic that the event can run smoothly by presenting quality electricity," said Saleh.

The Nias Pro World Surf League has been held since 2018 on Sorake Beach. This beach is known as one of the best right handed waves in the world. The height of the waves which can reach 15 meters makes this beach popular with surfers.
