PHR And Pertamina Drilling Successfully Hijacked The First Well In The Rokan Block

JAKARTA - Integrated Drilling, Engineering, Supervisory and Services (IDESS) collaboration between Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR) Regional Sumatra Subholding Upstream Pertamina and Pertamina Drilling Services Indonesia (Pertamina Drilling), began to show positive results. PHR succeeded in making an initial well tax at the Right Field Rokan Working Area (WK).PHR together with Pertamina Drilling managed to perform an initial well at Benarkulus WK Rokan on Thursday, May 23. The drill uses a PDSI 49.2 rig with a power of 550 horsepower (HP). This is an exploitation well (development) for PHR. EVP Upstream Business PHR Rokan, Edwil Suzandi, said that this inaugural tax is a form of commitment to cooperation between PHR and Pertamina Drilling in an effort to support national energy security and increase the production number of Rokan Working Areas. "The hope is synergy to bring goodness to the company and of course in an effort to support national energy security," said Edwil in a written statement to the media, Saturday, June 1.

For information, the IDESS program between PHR and Pertamina Drilling itself was confirmed through the signing of the cooperation which was carried out on February 26, 2024.

This collaboration is part of an effort to provide the best performance for PHR operational activities, especially drilling which is a priority in the Rokan Block as one of the largest crude oil producers in Indonesia. According to Edwil, through the synergy and collaboration of Pertamina's subsidiaries, namely PHR and Pertamina Drilling, it is hoped that it can improve their ability to provide quality wells safely and efficiently.

This collaboration includes drilling services for 8 years, consisting of 4 units of Drilling Rig 550 HP, 2 units of Drilling Rig 750 HP including other related resources. With the IDESS, it is hoped that Pertamina Drilling can improve its capabilities by conducting reliable project management and proper investment in new rigs and other service devices to support PHR in achieving production targets. "PHR is determined to provide the best performance for reliable and secure operational activities, especially drilling which is a priority, which aims to maintain national energy security," said Edwil.
