JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, Friday, visited the head office of Dongfang Electric, a manufacturer of power generation equipment in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, during a series of working visits to China.
Dongfang Electric Corporation Ltd (DEC) is a power equipment and service company that develops, designs, produces, and sells equipment for hydroelectric, thermal, nuclear, wind, steam and solar heat plants.

Puan's arrival with other members of the Indonesian House of Representatives delegation was welcomed by the directors and officials of the Electric Dongfang such as Senior Vice President of the DEC Group Song Zhiyuan, Vice President of the DeC Group Li Jianhua, President Dongfang Turbine Chen Zhongming, and Deputy Director of the International Business Department of DEC Zhuang Wenmin.
The DEC Board of Directors explained the development of ongoing project development, including hydroelectric power generation turbines to nuclear power. In addition, the DEC is also building infrastructure and technology for offshore oil and gas drilling.
There are a number of DEC projects in Indonesia such as Poso, Pacitan, and the largest in Cilacap, namely Steam Power Plants (PLTU) by utilizing seawater or using Ultra Super Critical (USC) boy technology.
Puan also encouraged an increase in technology transfer from the cooperation between Indonesia and China.
"We hope that these investment projects will recruit many Indonesian human resources and that technology transfers will be further improved for Indonesian children to be educated into 'engineerers' (insinyur) and other experts," said Puan.

During the visit to the Electric Dongfang, Puan also saw a hydrogen bus called the "Fuel Cell City Bus" which had been used to transport employees in the company's office.
