Waskita Speeds Up Completion Of IKN-Balikpapan Toll Road, Target Completed August 17, 2024

JAKARTA - PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk (WSKT) will work on the construction of a toll road infrastructure connectivity project, namely, the IKN Segment 5A Toll Road whose progress has reached 83.57 percent with innovation development from various aspects. This is in line with the need to mobilize the implementation of Indonesia's 79th Anniversary on August 17, 2024.

SVP Corporate Secretary of the Company Ermy Puspa Yunita said that currently the progress of the work on the Segmen 5A Toll Road project is experiencing acceleration deviation from the previous plan.

"The company is committed to completing one part of the development of connectivity infrastructure that connects the City of Balikpapan with the Capital City of the Archipelago (IKN) and can be used for the mobility of the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia on August 17, 2024. This toll road can shorten the travel time between IKN and Balikpapan by up to 45 minutes with a distance of 57 km," said Ermy in his official statement, Friday, May 31.

Then, in the construction of the IKN Segment 5A Toll Road project team, the development of innovation in terms of QHSE, engineering and digitization which aims to make work more effective, efficient and of course right in quality, namely the project team innovates by developing an Auto Rain Weighting System that is easy to read and access via the internet.

"It is beneficial to measure rainfall by considering safety factors when doing field work that can affect the quality of work," he said.

Furthermore, the project team optimized photogravimetry data collection with the DJI Macic 3E PPK (Post Processing Kinematic) drone. PPK is one of the observation methods in the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) base station, which points and tools move according to the measurement area.

PPK has an advantage because it does not require a real-time radio connection to the plane from the base station so that data storage is faster and easier.

As for other innovations, the project team carried out an intelligence comparison concept for the ground-based compactification process. The benefits of the IC method include obtaining data in all areas that are compacted according to the model planned through BIM, so that the work time becomes more optimal.

After that, BIM made work on projects easier, ranging from making work images, design reviews, mapping progress, work sequence, quality take off and cost estimates to coordinating with parties involved in the project development process, be it employers, contractors and consultants.

With the cloud-based data system, later all project activity processes can be recorded and stored properly and can be accessed in real-time anytime and anywhere.

For your information, the company is currently working on 12 IKN projects with a total contract value of IDR 13.6 trillion. Meanwhile, Waskita's own portion is IDR 7.5 trillion, including the Sepaku Ring Road Access Section 4, IKN Segment 5A Toll Road, State Secretariat Building, Coordinating Ministry Building 3, Coordinating Ministry Building 4 and IPAL 1,2.3 IKN.

Then, Feeder Street for the KIPP IKN area, ASN Flats, IKN National Road Section 6C-1 and Multi-Utility Tunnel-01 (MUT), 3B-2 Segment Toll Road and IKN VVIP Airport Access Road.
