Thanks To 1 Million COVID-19 Examinations, Prodia Receives IDR268.75 Billion Profits In 2020

JAKARTA - PT Prodia Widyahusada Tbk managed to record an operating profit of IDR 301.76 billion, or an increase of 39.67 percent. The positive growth in gross profit and operating profit supports the company's net profit achievement in 2020 to Rp268.75 billion, a significant growth of 27.8 percent compared to the previous year.

Prodia's net profit has increased in line with the increase in the company's net income. Net income growth increased by 7.4 percent to Rp1.87 trillion, compared to Rp1.74 trillion in the previous year.

Revenue from each customer segment also increased and contributed significantly to the company's revenue. The individual customer and doctor referral segments contributed around 61.2 percent to the company's revenue.

Meanwhile, the contribution of the third party reference segment and corporate clients is around 38.8 percent of the company's revenue. The President Director of Prodia Dewi Muliaty explained that 2020 was a year full of challenges, including for Prodia, which is in the health sector.

"However, during the COVID-19 pandemic, we were still able to record net income growth, maintain cash flow and maintain Prodia's profitability performance while still prioritizing the safety, health and safety of employees and customers," said Dewi in her written statement, Friday, March 12.

He explained, throughout 2020, the number of inspections reached 14 million and the number of visits reached 3.1 million. The number of requests for esoteric tests has increased by 191.5 percent in 2020 to 1.6 million tests.

The revenue for esoteric tests has increased by 131.8 percent in 2020 to IDR 700.3 billion. The company also continues to contribute in assisting the government in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Prodia provides COVID-19 testing using the rapid test method, EIA antibody serology test, and COVID-19 PCR. In 2020, the company has served more than 1 million COVID-19 checks in Indonesia.

Prodia began conducting SARS-CoV-2 RNA (PCR COVID-19) tests since early May 2020 and joined as part of the official National Reference Laboratory for RT-PCR COVID-19 examination in Indonesia in the same month.

In July 2020, Prodia used an automatic PerkinElmer tool to examine the PCR for COVID-19 at the National Referral Center Laboratory and Prodia Regional Reference Laboratory in Surabaya, Makassar and Medan.

Prodia continues to expand the PCR examination capacity for COVID-19 to more than 2,000 tests per day by adding an automatic Cobas 6800 device at the Prodia National Reference Center (PRN) Laboratory, Jakarta. Currently, Prodia is the first and only private health laboratory in Indonesia to use the fully automatic Cobas 6800 System.

In order to make it easier for customers during the COVID-19 pandemic, the company has launched Teleconsultation and Prodia in Your Car services. Teleconsultation aims to provide convenience for customers in conducting consultations regarding health conditions without having to come to Prodia.

Prodia in Your Car allows blood sampling to be carried out in the customer's car so that customers do not need to get out of the car, officers will approach and take samples while still applying the applicable security and safety protocols. Home service services are also continuously strengthened to serve customers optimally during the COVID-19 pandemic.
