"We also appreciate Masdar's further commitment of 2 GW, in order to support the fulfillment of the renewable energy plan in the archipelago. By prioritizing renewable energy such as solar power and wind, this will place Nusantara as an environmentally friendly city model that utilizes clean energy," said Bambang in his official statement, quoted Wednesday, May 22.

Meanwhile, Chief Executive Officer Masdar Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi said the UAE remains strongly committed to advancing the Indonesian energy sector, focusing on renewable energy.

In line with the UAE Consensus achieved at COP28, Masdar is dedicated to establishing partnerships that provide transformative solutions for access to clean energy.

"Our joint efforts will encourage investment in green hydrogen, solar power and wind to position Indonesia as the leader of the region in the global energy transition," he said.

Meanwhile, the Deputy for Funding and Investment of the IKN Authority, Agung Wicaksono, said that this agenda is a tangible form of interest in foreign investment in IKN that has entered the project development stage.

"Letter to Proceed is an improvement in one of the investment stages which will then begin a feasibility study by Masdar. The development is supported by the IKN Authority's strategic partnership with the Indonesia Investment Authority (INA) and an advisory from the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change," he said.
