JAKARTA - Director General of New Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Eniya Listiani Dewi, said that the energy transition to clean energy, which is currently being run by the government, requires collaboration with all parties.

According to him, the energy transition is not only the responsibility of the government and business entities, but everyone can take on their respective roles.

The energy transition, he continued, is a long world strategy in suppressing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in order to achieve the target of zero carbon emissions or net zero emissions (NZE) to minimize the impact of climate change.

"Once again, I want to emphasize that the energy transition is a shared responsibility, which requires the cooperation and efforts of everyone involved. The transition to a sustainable and clean energy source is very important for the future of our planet and overcoming climate change," said Eniya, quoted from ANTARA, Sunday, May 19.

He added that collaboration of all parties, including government, industry (BUMN and private sector), NGOs, academics, media, and individuals is needed to work together to achieve these common goals and ensure more sustainable and greener world benefits for future generations.

"Each of us has a role to play in the success of this transition and create a more environmentally friendly environment and a strong energy system for the benefit of everyone," said Eniya.

According to him, collaboration is not only with domestic groups, but also internationally so that it can be a stimulus to accelerate the energy transition process because transition is the key to sustainable development and increasing climate resilience.

"There is no transition without international cooperation and interconnection. There is no security without interconnectivity. There is no success without universal energy access. Collaboration and participation of all stakeholders is needed to achieve fair energy and meet climate change mitigation goals," he explained.

He added that the implementation of the energy transition requires innovation and collaboration from all stakeholders.

"Global actors need to fulfill their responsibilities to provide innovation, technology transfer support, knowledge sharing, environmentally friendly finance, and collaboration to accelerate a just and equitable transition by empowering the community, increasing competitiveness, value chains, and maintaining long-term economic growth," said Eniya.
