Pembangunan Proyek PLTA Jatigede 2x55 MW Rampung, Target Beroperasi Juni Mendatang

PT PLN (Persero) has completed the construction of the Jatigede Hydroelectric Power Plant (PLTA) with a capacity of 2times55 MegaWatt (MW) in Sumedang Regency, West Java.

This is a manifestation of PLN's commitment to developing green energy in the country, by utilizing renewable energy sources, especially water. Later, this hydropower plant is targeted to be able to operate commercially in June 2024.

The first synchronization of the Jatigede hydropower plant was successfully carried out to the PLN electricity system on Saturday, May 11, 2024.

"The presence of this hydropower plant increases the energy mix of the new renewable energy source (EBT) by 110 MW," said PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo in a written statement, Thursday, May 16.

Darmawan said the Jatigede hydropower plant is one solution for providing clean energy for the community. He claimed that his party would optimize all the potential for green energy.

"This is also in line with our commitment to achieve NZE in order to ensure a better life for future generations," he said.

Through this first synchronization stage, the Jatigede hydropower plant can certainly operate in a coordinated manner with high reliability after the results of testing and integration of the power generation system with the existing electricity network.

Meanwhile, the Daily Executive (Plh) General Manager of PLN Central Java Development Main Unit Kunto Nugroho said, the success of this first synchronization is an important stage in the implementation of projects in the future.

"We are very enthusiastic about this positive achievement and is an important milestone in providing a clean and sustainable energy supply for the community," he said.

For your information, the Jatigede hydropower project, which is located in Sumedang Regency, West Java, has previously gone through a number of important stages.

Thus, to be able to operate commercially, there are still several testing stages, such as loading and reliability runs to obtain an Operational LIKE Certificate (SLO).
