The Ministry Of Industry Does This To Fulfill The Human Resources Needs Of The Shipship Industry In Batam

The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) said the shipbuilding industry was growing rapidly in Indonesia, especially in the Batam area. Thus, the area now needs tens of thousands of workers.

Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said, in order to meet the needs of the tens of thousands of workers, it is necessary to increase innovation in the education unit or vocational training of the assisted industry.

Agus said that the application of industrial vocational education innovation could be carried out through the Vocational Training Program in Industry 3 in 1 with a training pattern.

"This aims to provide maximum briefing in basic skills (skilling), increasing skills (up-skilling) and updating skills (re-skilling) for industrial workers who are the focus of the attention of the Ministry of Industry at this time," said Minister of Industry Agus in his official statement, quoted on Tuesday, May 14.

The Head of the Industrial Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDMI) of the Ministry of Industry Masrokhan said the same thing.

He said this was a tangible manifestation of preparing skilled industrial workers.

"This is a tangible manifestation in preparing competent industrial workers and to ensure that the vital role of the development of competent industrial human resources can continue to be fulfilled properly," said Masrokhan.

The BPSDMI of the Ministry of Industry has inaugurated the Vocational Training of the Shipship Sector Industry which is the result of collaboration with associations and industrial partners in the Batam area and is supported by the local government, on Wednesday, May 8, 2024.

With the aim of building synergies and collaboration in the new sector, this place of cooperation is facilitated directly by LPK Geweld.

Then, the LSP Shipping and LSP Profession Las facilitate the provision of competency test assessors.

It is hoped that this form of cooperation and collaboration with LPK Geweld, IPERINDO, shipping LSP and LSP Profession Las can trigger the productivity of national manufacturing industry human resources so that they continue to develop and be globally competitive.

"This training is expected to be a good start for improving the quality of industrial human resources in Indonesia and beneficial for future training participants," he added.
