JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) said that as many as 28 national strategic projects (PSN) assigned by the ministry will be completed this year.

This was stated by the Secretary-General of the Ministry of PUPR Mohammad Zainal Fatah at the National Working Meeting on the Acceleration and Pre-Evaluation of PSN at the Park Hyatt Hotel, Jakarta, Tuesday, May 14.

"(A total of) 28 projects are targeted for completion this year. Meanwhile, 43 other projects will be completed after 2024," he said.

He detailed that as many as 10 projects would be completed in the first semester and 18 other projects completed in the second semester of 2024.

The 10 projects consist of 7 dams, 1 irrigation area and 2 toll roads.

In detail, the seven dams include the Temef Dam in East Nusa Tenggara, the Margatiga Dam in Lampung, the Lausimeme Dam in North Sumatra, the Keureuto Dam in Aceh, the Leuwikeris Dam in West Java, the Sidan Dam in Bali and the Pamukkulu Dam in South Sulawesi.

Then, 1 Glapan irrigation area in Central Java and 2 toll roads, namely Kisaran-Tebing Tinggi and Cimanggis-Cibitung.

"In the first half of 2024, we will complete 10 projects. 7 of them are Dams, 1 irrigation area and 2 toll roads," he said.

Meanwhile, in the second semester of 2024, said Zainal Fatah, the Ministry of PUPR will complete 18 PSN.

"Meanwhile, in the second semester of 2024, we plan to complete 18 other projects. 9 of them are dams, 4 irrigation areas, 1 beach embankment. Then there is also 1 toll road and 3 drinking water supply systems (SPAM)," he continued.

As for 2016-2023, the Ministry of PUPR was given the mandate to complete a total of 201 PSN. A total of 54 PSN have been completed, there are 31 PSN that have not been continued and as many as 116 PSN are still being worked on to date.

"Since 2016-2023, the Ministry of PUPR has been given the mandate to carry out the construction of 201 PSN, of which 54 projects have been completed and this has certainly been removed from the PSN list. We do not continue the 31 projects because we estimate that we cannot complete them. Because we have all the enthusiasm not to make or leave abandoned projects," he said.

"However, we are still given the task of continuing 116 projects in accordance with Permenko Number 8 of 2023 which is the fourth amendment to the previous Permen," he added.
