Jatake Station, Which Was Built By Property Company Owned By The Conglomerate Eka Tjipta Widjaja, Is Targeted To Be Completed In A Year

JAKARTA - Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi hopes that the Jatake Station which will be built by PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) and a company owned by conglomerate Eka Tjipta Widjaja (Sinar Mas Land) can be completed in one year.

In addition, he hopes that the construction of the station that is planned to be in Tangerang, Banten, precisely at the Tanah Abang-Merak route at KM 37 + 045 between Cicayur Station and Parung Panjang Station can provide a number of benefits to the surrounding community.

The benefits referred to are creating jobs for the community, developing residential areas needed by the community, and activating economic activities during a pandemic.

"The efforts to build this station involve the local community so that our affected relatives can get a job. Hopefully this can be completed in one year," said Budi, in a written statement, quoted on Tuesday, March 9.

Previously, Budi had given permission to KAI and Sinar Mas Land to build Jatake Station when he directly visited the location of the construction point on March 6, 2021. According to him, the construction of Jatake Station would be carried out under a concession scheme between KAI and Sinar Mas Land.

"The government always provides support for the private sector to take building initiatives. Therefore, from the discussions that have been carried out, we have decided to give permission to build this Jatake Station," he said.

Sinar Mas Land, the company owned by the second richest person in Indonesia, said Budi, had presented the station construction plan and proposed several alternative locations. The location for the construction of Jatake Station is planned to be at the Tanah Abang - Merak route at KM 37 + 045 between Cicayur Station and Parung Panjang Station.

"Indeed, there are several notes, but they can be discussed with the Directorate General of Railways and PT KAI. We hope that development can be carried out as soon as possible," he said.
