Bukit Asam Records Revenue Of IDR 38.5 T, Minister Erick: Evidence Of Proper Strategic Implementation Of Business

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir said PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) managed to record revenue of IDR 38.5 trillion with a net profit of IDR 6.1 trillion.

In addition, Erick said, PTBA has also succeeded in increasing coal production.

During 2023, production grew 13 percent or reached 41.9 million tons.

Erick said that export sales of PT Bukit Asam Tbk in 2023 also increased 25 percent to 15.6 million tons with domestic sales of 21.4 million tons or grew 12 percent.

"Alhamdulillah, PT Bukit Asam's performance during 2023 could increase. Including export sales, it increased by 25 percent from the previous year," he said, quoted from his official Instagram @erickthohir, Monday, May 13.

PTBA also distributed dividends of IDR 4.57 trillion to shareholders.

Erick said the dividend distributed was 75 percent of PT Bukit Asam Tbk's net profit obtained during 2023.

"This achievement cannot be separated from the right strategic implementation of business. So that it is able to maintain the operational performance of PT Bukit Asam's business," he said.

Previously, it was reported that the General Meeting of Shareholders of the Year (AGMS) PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) approved the use of 75 percent of the Company's 2023 net profit of IDR 4.6 trillion as dividends, with dividends per share that investors will receive of IDR 397.7 per share.

PTBA President Director Arsal Ismail said the dividend payout ratio was recorded to decrease when compared to dividends in the previous year which were distributed 100 percent of profit.

Meanwhile, 25 percent of the company's 2023 net profit of IDR 1.5 trillion was used as retained earnings for the future development of the company's business operations.

In the future, PTBA will carry out developments to improve both operational and sales performance. Therefore, we need internal cash. With cash, 25 percent can support development plans that have been stated in the RKAB," said Arsal at a press conference in Jakarta, Wednesday, May 8.
