AP II Predicts Number Of Passengers At Tembus Airport To 1 Million At The Moment Of The May 9-12 Long Holiday

JAKARTA - PT Angkasa Pura II (AP II) predicts that the number of passengers at 20 airports managed will reach 1 million people during the long holiday period for the weekend 9-12 May 2024.

"The number of passengers at 20 AP II airports on May 9-12 long weekend is estimated at 1 million people, of which the number of passengers has increased by 15 percent compared to normal days. Meanwhile, the number of flights is projected to be 6,823 flights," said the Temporary Substitute Officer (Pgs) SVP of Corporate Secretary AP II Cin Asmoro in a statement in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Thursday, May 9.

He said all AP II airports ensure the availability of slot times or availability of departure times and arrivals at airports to accommodate flight requests.

"AP II as the airport operator has coordinated with other stakeholders, especially airlines so that flight services on May 9-12 long weekends can run well," he said.

If deemed necessary, said Cin, the capacity of flight seats can always be increased through additional flights operated by airlines.

"AP II together with airlines are trying to ensure flight capacity can meet the increasing demand in this long weekend," he said.

Especially for Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Soetta) which is the largest and busiest airport in Indonesia, the number of airplane passengers is estimated to touch 643,841 people with aircraft movements as many as 4,096 flights.

Cin said that during this busy period, all AP II airports remained focused on a number of important points to ensure the maintenance of service, security and safety aspects.

"Fasilitas di sisi air (air side) dan sisi darat (land side) dipastikan siap. Begitu juga dengan kedekahan personel di seluruh airport," kata Cin.

AP II-run airports have also made a number of interior arrangements for aircraft passenger terminals to improve services, such as at Soetta Airport.

Terminal 3 of Soetta Airport is now equipped with mini forests and green areas at a number of points so that it brings a greener and better feel.

Access to and from Soekarno-Hatta Airport is now also reinforced by the existence of an east flyover in the front area of the airport area to make it easier for motorized vehicles to reach all directions.

AP II currently manages 20 airports, namely Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Jakarta), Halim Perdanakusuma (Jakarta), Kualanamu (Medan), Supadio (Pontianak), Minangkabau (Padang), Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II (Palembang), Sultan Syarif Kasim II (Pekanbaru), Husein Sastranegara (Bandung).

Furthermore, Sultan Iskandarmuda (Banda Aceh), Raja Haji Fisabilillah (Tanjungpinang), Sultan Thaha (Jambi), Depati Amir (Pangkalpinang), Silangit (North Tapanuli), Kertajati (Majalengka), Banyuwangi (Banyuwangi), Tjilik Riwut (Palangka Raya), Radin Inten II (Lampung), HAS Hanandjoeddin (Tanjung Pandan), Fatmawati Soekarno (Bengkulu), and General Besar Sudirman (Purbalingga).
