JAKARTA - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk (JSMR) through its subsidiary, Jasamarga Bali Tol (JBT) predicts an increase in the volume of vehicles on the Bali Mandara Toll Road this week.

President Director of PT Jasamarga Bali Toll I Ketut Adiputra Karang said the increase in traffic (traffic) occurred in line with the national holiday commemoration of the Ascension of Jesus Christ which falls tomorrow Thursday, May 9, 2024.

"It is predicted that as many as 238,267 vehicles will cross the Bali Mandara Toll Road during the period 8 to 12 May 2024," said Ketut in a written statement received by VOI, Wednesday, May 8.

The man who is often called Adi detailed that this figure increased by 12.30 percent compared to the normal traffic volume in 2024 or as many as 212,164 vehicles.

"The estimated increase in traffic volume includes traffic from three toll gates (GT), namely GT Nusa Dua, GT Ngurah Rai and GT Benoa," he said.

Adi assessed that the prediction of the peak traffic flow on the Bali Mandara Toll Road is estimated to occur on D+1 Days of the Ascension of Jesus Christ or Friday, May 10, 2024, with a total of 49,000 vehicles.

"This figure shows an increase of 11.2 percent compared to normal traffic of 44,000 vehicles," he added.

To overcome the potential for traffic density at the toll exit, PT JBT has taken a series of preventive measures.

One of them is coordinating with the Denpasar City Transportation Service (Dishub) to extend the time for traffic lights at the Pesanggaran intersection, starting from 16.00 WITA to 20.00 WITA.

"This is done to reduce congestion at the Benoa Pesanggaran Exit. In addition, cooperation is carried out with local officials to ensure that the density in the arterial route does not exceed a distance of 300 meters (m)," he said.

Meanwhile, to anticipate the occurrence of a bottleneck at the Roundabout Park to Ngurah Rai Airport, PT JBT has coordinated with PT Angkasa Pura I, the transportation service and the police.

This step is also supported by the installation of smart Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras at two strategic points, namely at Exit Ngurah Rai and Simpang Statue of Satria Gatotkaca Tuban (Patuung Kuda).

Later, the smart CCTV will serve as a means of calculating the number of vehicles to measure the ratio of volume to capacity (V/C ratio).

"If the V/C ratio reaches 0.7, information will be immediately submitted to the police and the transportation agency to carry out traffic engineering," said Adi.

Adi appealed to road users to prepare for the condition of themselves and their vehicles before traveling.

To get the latest traffic information, road users can download the Travoy application which is equipped with the Push Notification and WhatsApp ChatBot features, where application users are connected to Live Agents. So that it automatically answers requests for help and traffic information.

Road users are also advised to manage travel times well, ensure the adequacy of electronic money and fuel oil (BBM) balances and comply with signs and directions from officers in the field.

"The latest information regarding the traffic conditions on the Bali Mandara Toll Road can be accessed through various official information channels, such as the Call Center 14080, the Travoy application and the company's official social media account (Instagram @jasamargabalitol_official)," he added.
