MANADO - PLN Suluttenggo is committed to restoring the electricity system in Tagulandang, Sitaro Islands Regency, North Sulawesi, which was disrupted due to the eruption of Mount Ruangan.

General Manager of PLN UID North Sulawesi, Ari Dartomo, in Manado, Friday, said that his party would certainly monitor and respond quickly to the situation in Tagulandang.

Since yesterday, he continued, the PLN rapid response team has been dispatched to Tagulandang from Manado Port.

"We dispatched a total of 64 officers who are a combination of several units under PLN North Sulawesi and collaboration with Sub Holding PLN Nusa Daya," said Dartomo.

Currently, 7,735 PLN customers on Tagulandang Island have experienced a direct impact from the eruption of Mount Ruang.

He explained that there are a total of three auctioners and 49 substations require further inspection to determine the normal steps needed.

"We ensure that our officers can work safely so that the entire power grid can be restored but while ensuring safety in electricity installations in the community as well," Dartomo concluded.

The Commander of the XIII/Merdeka Military Regional Command, Maj. Gen. Candra Wijaya, said that one of the most important things in ensuring conduciveness in Tagulandang is the availability of electricity.

"Electric supply is needed because it will greatly help all activities and meet the needs of the people there," said Wijaya.
