Operating From May 1, Lodaya Trains Use The New Generation Economic Train Made By INKA

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) will operate the Lodaya train for the Bandung-Solo Balapan pp relationship using the executive train type and the stainless steel new generation economy in May 2024.

For your information, this new facility will be used starting Wednesday 1 May for KA (93) Lodaya Solo Balapan-Bandung relations. Then, Thursday 2 May for KA (92) Lodaya, the Bandung-Solo Balapan relationship.

EVP of Corporate Secretary KAI Raden Agus Dwinanto Budiadji said the New Generation Train was part of the procurement of 612 units of the Stainless Steel New Generation train for the period 2023 to 2026 which was imported from PT INKA (Persero).

"The operation of the Stainless Steel New Generation Executive Train is a form of improving KAI services to its loyal customers, especially Lodaya train customers. In the future, we will operate the New Generation Train for other trains in stages," he said in an official statement, Friday, April 26.

Previously, KAI had operated the New Generation Executive Train on the Argo Dwipangga (Gambir-Solo Balapan pp) train since December 13, 2023, the Argo Lawu (Gambir-Solo Balapan pp) train since December 18, 2023, the Taksaka train (Gambir-Yogyakarta pp) since January 18, 2024, and the Argo Bromo Anggrek train (Gambir-Surabaya Pasarturi pp) since March 29, 2024.

The previously KAI Stainless Steel New Generation Economic Train has operated on the Majapahit train for the Pasarsenen-Malang pp relationship since March 25, 2024.

Agus said the advantages of the Stainless Steel New Generation train include the entrance to the train and the connecting door between trains using an automatic electric door.

Furthermore, Agus said, this will make it easier for customers to open or close the door without spending a lot of energy.

The sound of door-closed activities has become quieter.

In addition, Passenger Information Display System (PIDS) available on each train can display information on the nearest station, speed, and room temperature. This PIDS helps create a better travel experience and provides important information for customers during the trip, "said Agus.

Agus said the Stainless Steel New Generation train window had also been upgraded to tempered double glass from previously tempered glass. So that the level of security is higher, helping to reduce the entry of excess heat and UV light into the room, and reducing better noise.

For the need to charge the customer's device, KAI adds USB charger ports to each seat, alongside a stop contact that is already available on the train wall. The addition of these charging facilities allows passengers to continue using their cellphones, laptops, and smart watch devices without worrying about running out of power, according to modern needs.

Another advantage for the Stainless Steel New Generation Train is in the toilet where there is a tap at the bottom to wash your feet during wusdu. Especially in women's toilets, KAI adds a folding table that functions to seat and replace baby diapers, "said Agus.

The train in the New Generation series has also been updated to be more luxurious with premium interiors and furniture. The train is dominated by a touch of wood and a softer and softer dining chair. The same PIDS is also available on the Vessel.

"The train convenience upgrade that KAI is currently doing is the company's effort to continue to pamper customers while traveling by train. Hopefully, hopefully, it can attract more public interest to remain loyal to using train services," concluded Agus.
