Good News! Ministry Of Trade Will Pay Cooking Oil Rate Debt In May 2024

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) targets debt for the difference in price or one-price cooking oil program for retail entrepreneurs to be paid in May 2024.

As is known, the debt problem with the price difference or one price of the cooking oil program has not found a bright spot. The debt has not been paid to employers for two years since this program was launched in January 2022.

The Director General of Domestic Trade at the Ministry of Trade, Isy Karim, said that his party was still processing the payment of the fried oil mixed debt.

"Rafaction, hopefully it will be finished in the near future. Hopefully, May will be finished. Hopefully, yes," he said when met at the Ministry of Trade Office, Jakarta, Thursday, April 25.

Previously it was reported, Isy Karim said there were documents that needed to be completed first related to the payment of the cooking oil ratio.

"It's in the process, it's coming soon. It's in the process of the letter," said Isy when met at the Ministry of Trade Office, Jakarta, Wednesday, April 24.

However, Isy ensured that the payment would be made after a coordination meeting conducted by the government some time ago.

"There used to be a coordination meeting. Now the coordination meeting has decided, now this is just waiting for the document process," he said.

In March, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said that the government was committed to fulfilling the payment of claims related to the cooking oil ratio.

Luhut conveyed this commitment while chairing the Coordination Meeting for Cooking Oil Rafaction Payment on Monday, March 25.

"We have to resolve (the problem) regarding this cooking oil ratio. This has been audited by BPKP (Financial and Development Supervisory Agency) and there is no such issue. We must immediately resolve this, so that traders do not suffer losses," he said in an official statement, Monday, March 25.
