JAKARTA - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) continues to coordinate with banks in securing assets due to the eruption of Mount Ruang, in Sitaro Islands Regency, North Sulawesi (Sulut).

"We will continue to monitor the activities of financial institutions in Tagulandang District, Sitaro," said Head of OJK Sulutgomalut Winter Marbun, in Manado, quoted from Antara, Thursday, April 25.

He said that based on the results of coordination and monitoring of the activities of financial institutions, especially in the Tamulandang District, financial service institutions (LJK) have closed services since April 17 and 18, 2024 until now.

"As an effort to serve the community, services are transferred to the nearest service office in both Biaro and Siau sub-districts," he said.

OJK together with the Financial Institution remain committed to serving the community, he said, including securing assets and trying to get operations back as soon as possible.

"We are trying to get banking activities in Tagulandang District to resume operations soon, we will see what conditions are," he said.

North Sulawesi Regional Development Bank President Director Revino Pepah said all bank assets had been well secured, so people did not need to worry.

He said credit and file collateral files and others would be taken to the Siau BSG office.

"There are several files included in the classroom (space with a security system, red) and those that have been moved in a safer room," he said.

"We will reopen bank services after the situation is conducive and possible," he said.

The president director said customers can use e-channels to transact such as mobile banking BSGtouch, BSGdirect for institutional payroles and BSGsms.
