Viral Video Of Customers Pulling All Deposits, BRI: Not True

JAKARTA - PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk opened its voice regarding the video uploaded on TikTok social media by user @rama_news and featured a woman who asked the public to withdraw her savings from Bank BRI.

"Be careful that the money and those in the akrena bank have disappeared by hundreds of millions. Many have lost money reporting mainly at Bank BRI. Be careful that you have to withdraw the money, it's better if you save it yourself. So far, 8 cases of people have lost their money at BRI to hundreds of millions of rupiah. This is an election effect that requires social assistance attacks other than money, everything is allowed to help the government destroy this democracy," the woman said, quoted Wednesday, April 24.

Responding to this, BRI Corporate Secretary Agustya Hendy Bernadi emphasized that if the information is not true, his party will take firm action against the statement.

"BRI ensures that the things conveyed in the video uploaded on social media are untrue and baseless," said Agustya, Wednesday, April 24.

Agustya also said that due to the circulation of content that was deliberately viral and had obtained millions of views, BRI would take firm action and take legal action against related parties, because content contains misleading information, damages BRI's image and has the potential to cause unrest in the community.

On the same occasion Agustya also appealed to the public to be able to take advantage of social media positively and not easily consumed by information that has not been confirmed.

"In carrying out its operations, BRI is committed to upholding the values of Good Corporate Governance (GCG) and prudential banking," concluded Agustya.
