The Indonesian Employers' Association (Apindo) delegation is targeting to strengthen cooperation in the fields of infrastructure, technology, finance, trade and investment with Hong Kong and Shenzhen through the association's business trip on April 16-20, 2024.
"Hong Kong has long been a champion in handling large-scale infrastructure projects," said APINDO Chairman Shinta Kamdani in a written statement, quoted Monday, April 22.
In addition to infrastructure, Shinta believes that trade cooperation, investment and other economic aspects between Indonesia and Hong Kong will continue to increase.
Shinta said Hong Kong was the third largest foreign investor in Indonesia. The total investment period from January to September 2023 has recorded a figure of up to 5.2 billion US dollars.
During the business trip, Apindo held a meeting with Chief Executive of Hong Kong John Lee and Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Algernaoun Yau.
After visiting Hong Kong, the Apindo delegation also held a meeting with a number of strategic partners in Shenzhen, China. One of the destinations for his visit was to the Huawei campus.
Apindo delegates also met with business leaders from a number of companies and educational institutions in Shenzhen, such as Tencent, BYD Company, Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School (SIGS) and BGI.
"Shenzhen has an investment opportunity that needs to be explored between Indonesian business people," said Shinta.
