PTK Add Fleet To Increase Upstream Oil And Gas Business Capacity

JAKARTA PT Pertamina Trans Kontinental (PTK) purchased the Accommodation Work Barge (AWB) ship in the second quarter of 2024. The addition of the AWB fleet is an effort to increase the company's capacity in the upstream oil and gas business.

The addition of the AWB fleet was carried out through the signing of the Protocol of Delivery and Acceptance (PODA) between PTK and PT Pelayaran Tamarin Samudra Tbk (Tamarin) as the previous ship owner on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at the PTK Headquarters, North Jakarta.

The signing of the PODA was carried out directly by the Director of Operations of PTK, Slamet Harianto and President Director of Tamarin, Kardja Rahardjo and witnessed by the Director of Fleet of PT Pertamina Internasional Shipping (PIS), Muhammad Irfan Zainul Fikri and other PTK Directors.

PIS Fleet Director, Muhammad Irfan Zainul Fikri in his speech said that PIS as the main shareholder of PTK welcomed the strategic steps to add the ship.

PTK must be able to accelerate in every service. This is of course in line with the spirit of growth carried out in all lines of _subholding integrated marine logistics_. The addition of the fleet must also be followed by better services and maintain aspects of Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE)," said Muhammad Irfan Zainul Fikri, Monday, April 22.

Meanwhile, the Director of Operations of PTK, Slamet Harianto, revealed that the addition of the AWB fleet was carried out to increase the portfolio in the upstream oil and gas business.

"This AWB addition is a strategic step for PTK to strengthen the company's position in the ship rental service sector owned by PTK. In addition, PTK also continues to be committed to increasing service offers to meet stakeholder needs, including in the upstream oil and gas sector," added Slamet Harianto.

The AWB ship, which was built in 2008, weighs 10,159 gross tonnage with an accommodation capacity capable of accommodating as many as 300 pax. This AWB also has a pedestrian crane, heliceck and water-maker and 8 point mooring system as well as a dual class Indonesia & IACS. The AWB ship purchased is one of the largest AWB ships in its class.

The purchase of this ship is expected to increase the types of services and operations of PTK, this allows companies to support offshore activities, maritime logistics in upstream oil and gas exploration and production activities.
