Eid Backflow, Jasa Marga Opens The Functional Path Of South Japek II Toll Road

JAKARTA - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk through its subsidiary PT Jasamarga South Japek (JJS) operates the functional lane of the South Jakarta-Cikampek II Toll Road (South Japek II) of the Sadang-Kutanegara Segment towards Jakarta.

The opening of the functional lane for the South Japek II Toll Road, Sadang-Kutanegara Segment, will be held on Sunday, April 14, 2024, starting at 14.25 WIB.

Road users from the direction of Bandung can enter the functional lane of the South Japek II Toll Road, Sadang-Kutanegara Segment through KM 76+400 Cipularang Toll Road, out to Sadang. Then, turn back above the Interchange to the functional toll road.

After passing a functional 8.5 kilometer (km) path, road users will pass a 15-20 km non-toll road to re-enter the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road towards Jakarta via the East Karawang Toll Gate (GT) at KM 54 or West Karawang GT at KM 47.

"The diversion of traffic flow to the functional lane of the South Japek II Toll Road is currently being carried out to maximize traffic distribution as well as break down traffic congestion to the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road from the Bandung direction," said PT JJS President Director, Charles Lendra, in a written statement, Sunday, April 14, 2024.

However, the functional lane for the South Japek II Toll Road is opened only for small/class I or nonbus vehicles with a maximum speed of 60 km/hour.

To enter the functional route, road users can prepare ahead of the entrance to the functional route located at KM 76 + 400 Cipularang Toll Road towards Jakarta.

"PT JJS has provided instructions installed 1 KM, 500 M, 200 M and at the intersection before access to the toll road. Warning blocks have also been installed so that road users who want to use alternative routes can prepare before entering the lane," he said.

Charles said the functional route for the Jakarta-Cikampek II Toll Road was not subject to tariffs. However, road users still have to make payments at the Kutanegara Toll Gate (GT).

At this toll gate, road users pay toll rates for the Cipularang Toll Road and Padalarang-Cileunyi Toll Road (Padaleunyi) if they travel from toll gates on the Padaleunyi Toll Road, with the same amount of tariff if the user makes a way out through GT Sadang, Cipularang Toll Road.

He added that the functional lane of the South Japek II Toll Road was opened situationally over the discretion of the police. In opening the functional lane of the South Japek II Toll Road, Jasa Marga together with the police have also carried out previous monitoring that there is no traffic density on Provincial Roads (Industrial Roads) after access is out of the functional route.

"We also urge road users who will enter the functional toll road to follow the directions of officers in the field and obey the applicable signs, including the maximum allowed speed limit and ensure the condition of the vehicle is in prime condition and fill up fuel before entering the functional lane. The problem is, the location of the nearest gas station is 1 km from the exit access of this functional toll road (left turn)," he added.
