Eid Backflow, Jasa Marga Will Re-implement Contraflow And One Way Engineering

PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk supports the implementation of the Joint Decree (SKB) of the Director General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation, Kakorlantas Polri and Director General of Highways concerning Road Traffic Regulation and Crossing During the Homecoming and Backflow Period of Eid Transportation in 2024.

President Director of PT JMTO Yoga Trianggoro said that a number of traffic engineering in the form of traffic engineering one way and contra flow had been applied to the flow of homecoming in accordance with the current traffic situation in the field.

Yoga explained that the implementation of the SKB in the form of traffic engineering aims to optimize the use and movement of traffic on national roads, including toll roads.

"To make this happen, we as toll road operators ensure the readiness of officers, fleets, spices, facilities and infrastructure in supporting traffic engineering. But of course this is not enough, we also ask for help and cooperation from road users to drive safely and safely while in lanes and traffic engineering lines," said Yoga.

Yoga said, for road users who are on the contra flow route, to ensure that the condition of the vehicle and the driver is in prime condition. If you are sleepy or tired, don't go to the contra flow lane and immediately go to the rest area to rest. In addition, if you have entered the contra flow to stay on the lane, don't drive too left or too far right.

"We urge road users to be disciplined in driving by complying with traffic signs and directions from officers in the field, complying with the required speed limits and not preceding other vehicles given the limited lanes opened for contra flow," said Yoga.

If road users experience an emergency condition, especially in the contra flow lane, what must be done is to pull over at the inner shoulder (leftmost lane in the contra flow lane) and turn on the hazard light. In this emergency condition, road users should contact Jasa Marga's One Call Center 14080 to get help from officers.

"Meanwhile, specifically for road users who pass the one way route, we urge you not to be euphoric in driving. Keep complying with the required speed limit. It is forbidden to switch lanes in locations that should not be, it is forbidden to break through barriers to change lanes and is also prohibited from moving lanes suddenly. This not only endangers yourself but also other motorists," he added.

Yoga also reminded road users not to stop on the shoulder of the road while on the one way route except in an emergency condition. Rest areas on toll road routes that are applied one way will continue to operate normally, including rest areas that are in the opposite direction/right lane.

In the SKB, it is also stated that in the event of a sudden or situational change in traffic flow, the Police can carry out operational management in the form of discretion from police officers.

For this reason, people who will travel back and forth using toll roads are advised to continue to monitor the latest information updates regarding the traffic engineering plan in real time through Jasa Marga's information channel and also the Police's information channel.

Jasa Marga also urges people who are still traveling via toll roads to ensure travel readiness, including ensuring the condition of the driver and vehicle is in prime condition and roadworthy, preparing supplies, ensuring sufficient fuel and electronic money balances.
