Guaranteeing Eid Al-Fitr 1445 H Electricity, PLN EPI Maintains Biomass Supply To PLTU Paiton

JAKARTA - Subholding of PLN Energi Primary Indonesia (PLN EPI) maintains the supply chain of primary energy to the generator during the Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr 1445 H standby moments.

One of them is maintaining the supply chain of biomass to one of the PLTUs that is the backbone of Java electricity during this year's Eid homecoming.

PLN EPI President Director Iwan Agung Firstantara explained that currently PLTU Paiton has implemented coal co-firing with biomass of 5 percent.

For this reason, in addition to supplying coal needs, PLN EPI also supplies biomass needs so that the electricity supply from Paiton is guaranteed to be optimized.

"The subholding of PLN EPI has a vital role to play in maintaining electricity supply during the Eid al-Fitr 1445 H this year. Moreover, the movement of people at this year's homecoming moment is quite significant so that electricity supply to areas such as Central Java, East Java as a destination for homecoming destinations must be prime," said Iwan in his official statement, quoted on Sunday, April 7.

This year, the Paiton PLTU requires a supply of biomass of up to 154,519 tons for the Paiton 1-2 PLTU. Meanwhile, the Paiton 9 PLTU requires supplies of up to 105,062 tons.

Meanwhile, last year, the realization of PLTU Paiton's biomass absorption reached 139,834 tons. As for PLTU Paiton 9 of 22,741 tons. Reflecting on last year's reliability in supply, this year, PLN EPI ensures that all needs of the Paiton PLTU are sufficient.

"We ensure that we prioritize all biomass needs for the Paiton PLTU. Currently, the need for sawdust as the main raw material for the PLTU Paiton biomass can be well supplied," said Iwan.

During a visit to PLTU Paiton, PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo also explained that PLTU Paiton contributed 17 percent to the Java Madura Bali electricity system.

In terms of primary energy supply, he ensures the safety of coal supply for PLTU Paiton with an average availability of more than 20 Operations Days (HOP).

"PLTU Paiton has also run the cofiring program by replacing part of the coal with sawdust (wood powder) as fuel to make it more environmentally friendly. The availability of sawdust is also very safe and ready to meet the needs during the Eid al-Fitr moment," said Darmawan.
