JAKARTA - The government will soon continue the construction of the Cirebon-Semarang natural gas pipeline to phase II, namely the Batang-Kandang Haur Timur section in 2024, with a total cost of around IDR 3.05 trillion.

The construction of the phase II CISEM project was marked by the signing of the CISEM Construction Management Consultant Work Contract Phase II for the Batang-Kandang Haur Timur section worth 64.9 billion in Bandung on Tuesday, April 3.

"I congratulate you on choosing PT Amythas to be together with us later in completing this CISEM Phase II work. Yesterday while working on CISEM Phase I, although there were several obstacles including obstacles faced in terms of Construction Management (MK), but we can catch up and be able to complete it on time. We also hope that with PT Amythas, we will jointly make scenarios for breakthroughs so that the CISEM Phase II project does not pass the 2025 target," said Migas Infrastructure Planning and Development Director Laode Sulaeman quoted Friday, April 5.

Laode added, the implementation of the CISEM Phase II project uses an integrated construction work procurement scheme for Design and Build (Design and Build), because it is included in the criteria for urgent and complex work based on LKPP Regulation Number 12 of 2021 concerning Guidelines for the Implementation of Government Goods/Services through Providers. The CISEM Phase II project is planned to be implemented for 17 months.

"We hope that later at CISEM Phase II, we can accelerate so that it can be completed according to the existing timeline, thankfully we can repeat the achievements in the CISEM Phase I project which can be completed faster, indeed the challenges are bigger because if CISEM Phase I is only 60 km, while CISEM Phase II is 245 km, the challenges are quite large, but we are still trying to complete it according to the targets that have been given," said Laode.

Laode said the government expected the completion of the CISEM Phase II pipeline construction in a timely and quality manner, and in the end it could be utilized to safely stream natural gas supplies to consumers, reliable and sustainable.

Just so you know, the CISEM project is a National Strategic Project (PSN) and part of the transmission pipeline interconnect plan between the transmission pipeline network of Sumatra, West Java and the East Java transmission pipeline network.

This pipeline interconnection strengthens the supply chain of natural gas and can be accessed by the public at affordable prices in a sustainable manner, especially for the needs of the existing industrial sector along pipelines and industrial areas that will soon operate in several areas.

Among other things, the Batang Integrated Industrial Zone and the Kendal Special Economic Zone, as well as other industrial areas that are in the planning process.

The CISEM Phase II pipeline construction budget has now been included in the APBN with a multi-year contract scheme with a project period of 2024-2026.

The CISEM Phase II pipeline is 245 km or 4 times compared to CISEM Phase I. The potential for the CISEM Phase II pipe demand includes industries in Cirebon, Tegal, Pekalongan, Brebes, and Pemalang.

In addition, commercial consumers such as hotels and restaurants as well as household gas networks, Balongan oil refineries and power plants.
