After Departure On Homecoming Is Fun With SOEs, Erick Thohir: This Year There Are 90,000 Participants

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir has released Fun Homecoming participants with SOEs in 2024. He said this program had been running for 5 years and times 88 SOEs participated.

The release of homecoming participants using bus transportation facilities was held at the Cross Gate of the Jakarta National Monument on Friday, April 5.

"This year the figure reaches more than 90,000 (homecomers). The participation of the children and grandchildren of state-owned companies has also increased from 84 to 88 SOEs, so it can be big like this," Erick said at the release of the Fun Homecoming Participants with SOEs at Monas, Jakarta, Friday, April 5.

Erick said this program is important to organize to help people who want to return to their hometowns. Moreover, the number of travelers who continue to increase from year to year.

"How do we jointly encourage safe, comfortable homecoming and arrive to meet family at family home, this is why we encourage the program (pleasant homecoming with SOEs)," he said.

In addition, continued Erick, the free homecoming program also aims to reduce the number of travelers by private vehicles, especially on motorbikes. The reason is, the majority of traffic accidents occur during homecoming to motorcycle users.

In fact, Erick revealed that 77 percent of accidents during Lebaran homecoming were accidents involving motorbikes.

"It is very important that we ensure the safety of the travelers, where if we look at the data on the accident rate, it is indeed the highest when going home on a motorbike, which is approximately 77 percent of the total accidents," he said.

Erick also hopes that the free homecoming program from BUMN can continue to the following years. Because, this program is a clear proof of the concern of SOEs for the community.

"I hope that the program that has been running for 5 years can continue, because this is part of our concern for SOEs, as directed by the President, which can ease what the community is facing today, purchasing power is decreasing," he explained.

For your information, the provision of free homecoming from 88 SOEs with 1,536 bus modes departing with 70,184 passengers heading for Wonogiri, Surakarta, Klaten, Kebumen Purworejo, Sragen, Boyolali, Ngawi, Grobogan and Solo Raya.

Then, 60 train modes with a total of 19,122 passengers. Then, 30 sea ships with 5,452 passengers.
