JAKARTA - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk (JSMR) predicts that there are 1,862,715 vehicles leaving the Jabodetabek area during the Lebaran 2024 homecoming period.

Jasa Marga President Director Subakti Syukur said the increase in vehicles leaving Jabodetabek reached 5.94 percent compared to the 2023 Eid homecoming.

"The traffic volume on the H-7 to D+2 Lebaran homecoming flow which falls in the period from 3-11 April 2024, we predict that it will reach 1.86 million vehicles that will leave Jabodetabek through 4 main toll gates (GT), namely the Cikampek Utama GT, Kalihurip Utama GT, Ciawi GT and Cikupa GT," Subakti said in a hearing (RDP) with Commission VI of the DPR RI at the Parliament Building. Senayan, Jakarta, quoted Thursday, April 4.

"This increased by about 5.94 percent or close to 6 percent compared to last Lebaran 2023 and was 54.13 percent higher when compared to normal traffic volume," he continued.

Subakti said that his party predicts that the peak of the Lebaran homecoming flow that passes through the toll road will occur on April 6, 2024.

"Meanwhile, the peak of the homecoming flow is predicted to occur in D-4 or 6 April 2024 with a traffic volume of 259,087 vehicles, an increase of 0.03 percent for Eid 2023," he said.

Meanwhile, for the volume of traffic at the time of the backflow, Jasa Marga predicts that there are around 1,920,976 vehicles that will return to Jabodetabek through the 4 main toll gates.

"The volume of traffic on backflow, namely D+1 to D+7 Lebaran which falls on 10-18 April 2024, is predicted to reach 1.92 million vehicles returning to Jabodetabek. This is an increase of around 4.19 percent compared to Lebaran 2023 and 60.55 percent higher when compared to normal traffic," he said.

Furthermore, said Subakti, his party also predicts that the peak of backflow will occur on D+4 Lebaran or April 15, 2024, with a traffic volume of 300,722 vehicles. This figure increased by 13.2 percent when compared to Eid 2023 or an increase of 131 percent for normal traffic.

"So, at the peak of the backflow, there will indeed be a fairly high spike that we must serve when entering Jabodetabek," he added.
