Angkasa Pura: There Are Additional 2,470 Flights In The 2024 Eid Period

JAKARTA - President Director of Angkasa Pura Indonesia Faik Fahmi said that the addition of flight schedules reached 2,470 extra flights as of Tuesday, April 2, 2024, for the Eid period.

"We provide extra flight flexibility. To this day, and this has always changed, yes, there are 2,470 extra flights," said Faik Fahmi in an event entitled, Kupas Tuntas Bersama InJourney Airports Angkasa Pura Indonesia in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, April 3.

The additional flights, he said, were operated by 9 national airlines and 3 foreign airlines. Thus, the 2,470 extra flights were operated by 12 airlines.

"It's an extra flight through 14 airports. So, this is an effort from airline friends to be able to accommodate the high demand during this Lebaran period," said Faik.

Faik said that InJourney Airports or Angkasa Pura Indonesia through 35 airports managed to project an increase in air transportation traffic during the 2024 Eid Transport period.

Angkasa Pura Indonesia predicts that the 2024 Lebaran Transport passengers will be 7,971,471 pax, an increase of 3 percent when compared to the realization of Lebaran 2019 which amounted to 7,747,891 pax, and an increase of 10 percent when compared to the realization of Eid al-Fitr 2023 which was 7,228,462 pax.

Although traffic in 2024 is higher when compared to Lebaran 2019, Faik said that the number of aircraft operated in 2024 is less than 2019.

"So in 2019 there will be around 640 aircraft operated, but in this Lebaran period (2024) only 420 aircraft. Now this can ultimately raise issues, such as expensive ticket prices," he said.

In addition to adding flight schedules, Faik also said that Angkasa Pura also opened the 2024 Eid Command Post at 35 airports managed by Angkasa Pura Indonesia.

The opening of the post aims to ensure the safety, security, smoothness and comfort of airport service users during the 2024 Eid Transport period.

"We are increasing the number of officers at the post, involving other stakeholders, including the TNI and Polri," said Faik.
