Bedikari Jaga Ketersediaan Livestock Dan Meat Sapi Untuk Penuhi Permintaan HBKN

JAKARTA - PT Berdikari, a subsidiary of the BUMN Food Holding ID FOOD, brought 2,583 feeder cows and cows ready to cut, as an effort to prepare for the National Religious Holidays (HBKN). This was conveyed by the Director of Finance and Human Resources Berdikari Kaspiyah, Monday, April 1, while reviewing the arrival of cattle at Tanjung Priok Port, Jakarta.

According to him, the cows will soon be distributed to a number of cage locations for fatting by providing quality feed to livestock in sufficient quantities. This step is to accelerate and increase meat production as expected.

"Some cows that fall into the category of feeder cattle will be overweight at Farm Cariu and Farm Jati tujuh for a certain period, or about 3 to 4 months," he said.

Kaspiyah said the feeder cattle imported were Brahman Cross or Australian Commercial Cross (ACC), with an average weight of 325 kg. Some cows weighing more than 500 kg will be cut according to applicable regulations.

"Cows with a weight of more than 500 kg will be cut according to applicable and distributed regulations in order to meet the meat supply," he explained.

According to Kaspiyah, the arrival of 2,583 cows is part of the independent commitment to ensure the availability of sufficient meat for the community during the celebration of the HBKN. "The arrival of these cows is expected to meet the increasing demand for meat during the period of celebration of the HBKN, both Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha," he said.

Meanwhile, ID FOOD Director of Business Development and Control Dirgayuza Setiawan, while monitoring the arrival of the cows, said ID FOOD together with a number of stakeholders directly monitored the arrival of feeder cattle and were ready to cut them at the port. This step is to ensure that the cow arrives in good health and no symptoms of any disease are found.

Including preparing for distribution and absorption of beef after slaughter," he explained.

He said, to ensure that people get affordable and quality beef supplies in the middle of this HBKN, the ID FOOD through Berdikari also carries out cheap markets at a number of location points.

"In general, during the March-April period we participated in 100 cheap markets or the Cheap Food Movement (GPM) in various provinces in Indonesia and provided affordable food packages with commodities sold, including beef with varying discounts," he said.
