Pelindo Gives Discount On Build-Up Service Bills During Freight Transport Restrictions

JAKARTA - PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) or Pelindo provides incentives in the form of cost relief, which is a discount of up to 50 percent on the bill of services for the accumulation of goods and containers.

The discount was given during the period of restriction on the transportation of goods on the flow of homecoming and back to Lebaran 2024.

Pelindo Corporate Secretariat Group Head Ardhy Wahyu Basuki in a statement received in Jakarta on Sunday said the fee relief was given during the period 5-16 April 2024.

"The provision of discounts applies to dismantling services between islands and services for imports," said Ardhy as quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, March 31.

Ardhy stated that the discount was valid at the terminal operated by Pelindo.

"This discount also applies to the buildup of containers in the extension container yard (CY) area (extended) and CY line 2 which operate in one terminal area as well as an integrated physical inspection site (TPFT) that cannot exit the terminal (delivery) due to restrictions on freight transportation during the homecoming period and the return of Eid 2024 transportation," said Ardhy.

He also emphasized that during the Lebaran 2024 holiday period, terminal operations will continue. Pelindo also guarantees loading and unloading services for ships, buildup of goods, clean water supply, and other supporting services will continue for 24 hours for 7 days.

"Activities inside the terminal remain normal, loading and unloading goods and containers at the dock continues. We have prepared supporting areas for the buildup field so as not to overdo it, including the engineering of buildup in the terminal," he said.

The discount is also part of the company's efforts to support government policies.

Previously, the Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi conveyed the government's commitment to ensuring that logistics supplies run smoothly during the Idul Fitri 1445 Hijri holiday.

"I have instructed the Ministry of Transportation to ensure the smooth distribution of logistics and coordinate with related parties such as ministries/agencies and local governments so that basic materials, essential materials, and other goods can meet the needs of the community during Ramadan," said the Minister of Transportation.
