TANGERANG - Ahead of Eid al-Fitr, a number of land and sea transportations get free homecoming from the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub). But why is there no free homecoming via air transportation?

Senior Manager of Branch Communication & Legal Angkasa Pura II Soekarno Hatta Airport, M. Holik Muardi explained the reason why there is no free homecoming via air. This happens because the interest level of people who do homecoming is not as much as land and sea.

Nevertheless, his party supports the government's program, namely this Free Homecoming. One of them is an example in previous years, it provides hundreds of buses for people who want to go home for Eid al-Fitr.

"We, as a state-owned company, have also been asked both from the Ministry of SOEs and from the Ministry of Transportation to carry out supporting government programs, namely one of the organizers of the free homecoming," said Holik during a BMC discussion in Tangerang City, Sunday, March 30.

"We provide several hundred fleets and it is indeed land," he added

He also explained the reason why his party provided free homecoming via land or bus. This happens because passenger traffic is considered less than via land and sea.

Moreover, the average person who is inspired by air transportation is only for holidays, not for Eid Al-Fitr 1445 Hijiri homecoming.

"If we look at the trend of passengers in the air for Joglosemar (Joglo, Solo, Semarang), it's a bit of a trend. The enthusiasm of the community. Yes, as I said earlier, the destination is Denpasar," he said.

"What does that mean? So this is an interesting phenomenon. Why is Denpasar for domestic means people are not going home because they take advantage of this long holiday to do healing or holidays," he continued.

On his occasion, Holik revealed that for Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijri this time, his party has not been able to provide free buses for the community. The reason is that the budget conditions are not yet possible.

"But this year we haven't done it because it's still an issue related to the budget that hasn't been fully recovered due to COVID yesterday," he concluded.
